I want to photograph something inspiring. Something meaningful and lasting. Something timeless and beautiful. Something extravegantly simple. && since my brides love this as well, I thought a styled wedding shoot would be absolutely perfect.

Ashton and Kyle have been dating for a while and happily volunteered to model the shoot for us! Because there are so many details from this styled shoot, I will be blogging just the first part today! Enjoy!

it all matters

"it all matters."

This is the phrase that God keeps putting in my mind. Every part of my life is worth it to Him and He wants to use every part of my life for His glory. Even the messy parts. Even the parts of my life that don't seem significant.

It's so easy for me to begin filling out an imaginary checklist to see if what I do equals something that matters. Do people tell me that it matters? Can I see that it has made a difference? Will others remember it being significant in their lives? And sure, "is this what God wanted?" is on my list too, but it only holds significance in my life if all of the other items on the list are a resounding "yes!"

As believers, we understand that this is not the way that we are supposed to live our lives. We have been given freedom from this checklist. And all I want to do is what God wants. I don't want to base a calling God has given me on anything other than Him. And if I am being completely honest with you, it is hard to live this way.

because people are going to tell me what they think. people may not encourage or support me. people may not remember me. I may not be important to them. it is hard to not want to be popular with the world.

I want to live in this freedom from now on. And yes, I will struggle. I will wonder if what I do is significant. But when I wonder these things, I want to choose to believe God. And if I am doing what He wants...if it is what HE WANTS...then it is His hand, voice and love at work...not mine. And I know that all things in Him are significant. This is the way I want to live.

A Workshop Experience

I started this blog (actually my dad started it for me...talk about support!!!) in 2008. My parents were always so supportive of anything that I wanted to do...but they always encouraged me to seek the Lord in all things. As a child, I didn't really understand what this meant, but I knew that it was important because, well, my parents said it was important. I used to have a soccer poster in my room that said "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as though working for the Lord and not for men." After taking my own senior pictures (with the help of family, friends, and a self-timer), I began to get requests to take pictures for other people.

Starting a business is a difficult process. Because you want to constantly improve and give your client (who has become a dear friend) something that will inspire them. With every image I take, I am sending a message. And I want that message to hold the truth that God defines us. We are lovely because He has created us. We are worthy because He has redeemed us. We are joyful because of His love. We are called because of His goodness.

I want Him to be the source of inspiration for myself and for my clients.

This is what He has called me to do and because of His calling I smile. Because He blesses me. Because He is good to me. Because He has called me friend. and because I can live in this freedom which is mine in Him.

This freedom He has given us allows us to be united in love! BIIIIIG SMILE as I tell you about ShowIt. ShowIt is a community of photographers who come together to support each other and share ideas while making friends. A fellow showiteer, Katelyn James, is hosting a lovely workshop. Why attend a workshop, you ask? Workshops are for encouraging each other and being a light and getting connected to other photographers who you would have never known otherwise. Workshops are designed to unite and inspire photographers. and I want to do just this as I seek Him in my business.

more than just a bride

Sure their wedding dresses are perfectly detailed in every way and their outfits for their engagement session are right out of the cutest (and tasteful) magazine. And yes, yes, yes they love bridal sessions and lovely venues. And details, did I mention the details?

But there is more than that to my brides. They love reading in the stillness. They are confident in who God has made them to be and they love to encourage everyone in their lives. They are kind and gracious and they want to impact the world.

Can you believe they actually send me little notes to encourage me?

I am so blessed by each one of my brides. Not just because I get to capture their lovely day, but also because I get to be friends with them. I absolutely LOVE my brides.

spices, jelly and reading

The day after the wedding shoot in Portland, Savannah and I walked around downtown to enjoy our last day in the big city. We kicked off the morning with some coffee and walked through store after store. I bought spices and jelly (good, good decision) mostly because I love to cook and Isaac loves to eat. :) Lunch with a friend, dessert at moonstruck and reading at the hotel.

For the last week, I have been thinking about what to tell you about the workshop I attended. God moved in my life and He gave me much joy and rest. He is constantly challenging me to trust and believe Him more. These women will be friends for a lifetime because He is the center of our relationship. If it weren't for His love and power in our lives, we would never have met and this makes me want to sing with all my heart! He amazes me.

We spent the first day sharing stories and discussing strategies that work for our individual businesses. Can I just tell you that I am so excited to implement these amazing ideas??? so, SO excited! and I know you will be excited too!

The second day, we traveled to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum for a styled wedding shoot coordinated by the amazing Misty Damico. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the images!

Savannah and I have been friends since first grade. We can say everything to each other and nothing to each other. We can just be ourselves. We can share what God is doing in our life and our ache to grow closer in our relationship with Him. We can talk about our struggles and our desire to glorify Him in every single aspect of our lives. i love being able to live in freedom.

The morning of the workshop, we had about five minutes before we were leaving for coffee so we ran across the street and we laughed about everything.

thoughts and then more thoughts

today i had a thought that was followed by another thought. this typically happens, but for some reason these thoughts were more significant than the last thoughts.

with every piece of me, i want to tell the truth. it's not just that i don't want to believe lies or speak lies: i want to tell the truth to women. because it is something that we need to hear...because it's true! i want to live in this truth and own this truth and be refreshed daily by this truth. i want to defend the truth. because it's worth it. because He calls me to do it.

after a long day at the pursuit 31 workshop, i can't sleep. and it's definitely not the time change because i am writing this at midnight here, making it 2 in the morning in missouri. trust me, i don't adjust that quickly. i just keep thinking about the visions that God has given me for women and for myself. i keep thinking about it because it makes my heart joyful.

He moves in my heart with great joy to the point of tears. because He is good. because He is bigger. because He makes the impossible possible with His command. i am moved by Him. and i want so, so very much.

Savannah and I are headed to West Coast for a few days. She is looking at grad schools and I am going to be working it at a photography workshop with Karen Stott and a bunch of over fabulous ladies that I have yet to meet. If you haven't checked out what God is doing through Karen, you definitely should!

I am looking forward to traveling (although it is a bit stressful without my husband) and reading and resting and running and making memories! Throughout the day I have had to decide to enjoy this gift that God has given me - this week away. It's hard for me to understand why I would have to choose to enjoy a gift.. but that is where I am right now: disciplining myself to enjoy a gift. And amidst this great challenge today, my heart is full of joy because He is so good! And because all things are possible in and through Him.

I can't even tell you.

As I went into this weekend I realized the need to trust God more and more and rely on His strength to accomplish what had been set before me. It's funny because I always think that I am done learning in this area, as if it was something to check off a list and now it's done. Well, I am reminded daily that a relationship with God is not about checking something off a list or even accomplishing something. It is a relationship where He delights in me and I delight in Him. Trusting in God is an overflow of my relationship with God. And let me tell you something: I need more overflow.

I plan on reflecting on this weekend more and more over the next few weeks: What was beneficial? What do we need to do differently? These questions will help us to move forward as we seek Him even more. The most amazing thing? He took every piece of us and made it beautiful. God is faithful! And He uses us to bring Glory to Him!

I will be blogging more about the vision, process of planning, and execution of the event since I have received so many emails from you guys! I can't tell you how thankful I am for your support, encouragement and curiosity!

Beauty?

I want to be real with you. Because His grace is sufficient for me and His power is made perfect in weakness. God has challenged me over the past few years to become honest. To become real. Because pretending like I am perfect is insane. I will boast in what the Lord is doing and in what He has done!

Beauty. It's something that every girl struggles with. We have this desire to be beautiful and desired and worthy. Well, I didn't even wonder if I was beautiful in high school because I knew that I wasn't. I wasn't even concerned about it because I knew that there was no way that I could change it: I was never going to be beautiful. You see, I had read about what God thought about me in Psalm 139 and I knew that it was truth, but I did not choose to live by that truth.

It's crazy to me how quickly I accepted this lie and let it become etched into what I thought about myself. Praise the Lord that His truth is what defines me and not these lies! He says that I am His and His love makes me beautiful: He doesn't love me because I am beautiful, but because He loves me I am BEAUTIFUL. and I am even more than that. I am redeemed and free and valued and He delights in me. He, the King of kings, delights in me. this makes my heart rejoice!

A week or so ago, I announced an event happening with our youth. These girls are going to paint their nails, bleach tshirts, and replace lies with truth. We are going to fellowship together and talk about who He is and who He says we are. We are going to enjoy Him and He is going to DELIGHT in us. forever. and ever.

He defines me. and you. and us. Live that way today.

a little bit of us

i love decorating and organizing and being completely creative, but I am not sure that you would know that by looking at my house right now. Isaac and I moved into a new apartment earlier this fall and our spare bedroom is packed with boxes, among other things. it's time to unpack, or at least organize, even if we are moving again in a few months for grad school.

it has been a while since isaac and i have had our pictures taken, so we headed out tonight to make it happen. i sit here and i am beyond excited because i can decorate with these pictures! i'm thinking canvases in the bedroom. pics later for sure. enjoy!

Finally, after many years of practice and hard work, I like coffee. Yes, it's true. A good friend of mine invited me for lunch and coffee and it was at that moment I realized that a single serve coffee maker wouldn't be so bad.Yes, is quite delicious.

Isaac has been out of town interviewing at a grad school for the past few days and I am excited that he is coming home tonight! I decided to head down a bit early so I could grab some coffee (COFFEE!!!) and surprise him with a cupcake. mmm cupcakes.

It is nice to sit here and read and soak up this special time that God has given me to rest and love and dream and hear Him. I love that He has chosen us as His own and that we don't have to do anything in order to earn His love. He freely gives it to us and I rejoice in this. I can live in freedom and today I am choosing to do just that. I am living in the freedom which is mine in Christ Jesus.

and as it turns out, I have NEVER told you about how much I love blurred lights. love them.

a little bit of rest

who would have thought that relaxing would be so hard? normally when i sit down to rest, i realize that there are a ton of other things i "have" to do. even though there are many projects in the works, i am realizing that it is still possible to breathe. and even necessary or burnout is inevitable. even Jesus rested. and i want to reflect Him in everything i do.

i have spent the day doing normal activities: reading, writing, driving, editing, branding and marketing. but today was different; it was restful. it was as if i accepted the freedom, which is already mine in His name, to rest. and i have enjoyed every minute of it.

tonight i am spending some time with my darling sister, Jaelyn. we enjoy each other's company and the giggles that come from late night conversations. i really love this girl and i am so thankful that God has blessed my life with her.

it definitely snowed today. soOOO excited. :)

we were celebrating Christmas at my grandmas drinking coffee, sharing stories, and snooping through my grandma's belongings. it was when i walked into her closet that i realized we were going to do a themed shoot... in one of my grandmother's dresses. we added pearls, curls and a basket of bread to top off the theme.

Isaac and I are headed to eat some delicious (i hope) chinese food. this week i have reflected on God's calling on my life and whether or not His plans are enough for me. and of course they should be, but we all come to these crossroads in our life (even daily) where we choose God or we choose ourselves. I am seeking Him with all my heart and He promises that I will find Him.

I am going to delight in Him and He is going to delight in me. and i want what He has for me to be enough. this is my heart's desire.

i picked up softball my junior year of high school. mostly because my dad was coaching and i wanted to spend as much time as possible with him. we worked on hitting and we worked on fielding and we worked on running. i knew what exhaustion was like. i knew hard work. and i knew the desire to see it all come together.

i would stand in the dugout ready to hit and go through every mental step needed for preparation. i would think about perfect form and deep breaths and timing. i ventured out to the on-deck circle and worked on more timing. and then anxiety would hit. because there was the possibility that i would fail. so afraid to fail.

i am afraid of failing.

i want to write something meaningful. i want to say something inspiring, but sometimes i just sit here stumped and those words won’t form. because i am afraid of failing. i am afraid of saying the wrong thing or not being cohesive. and sometimes it keeps me from writing. what if it’s not perfect?

and then i realize i don’t have to live in this fear of imperfection. i can live in the joy which is my hope in Jesus. for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and discipline. i have freedom in Him. and His words are inspiring. i don’t have to write something new and profound because His word is enough.

As I reflect on this year, I can't help but be a bit giddy. It warms my heart to look through these images and see joy and sweet memories. I am so thankful to be part of your life and to capture moments that you will remember forever. I can't say it enough. Thank you.

Over this past year, God has shown His faithfulness and His delight in me. I love that! I love how He delights in us and I am amazed that I can't even begin to understand why. I am just thankful for everything He is and everything He gives.

This year, I asked God for so many things. I asked Him to reign in my life. I asked Him to show me who I really am in Him. I asked Him to give me a heart of praise. I asked Him for friends who would sharpen me like iron sharpens iron. I asked Him to show me more of His love in my marriage. I asked Him to give me a heart that longed for His desires. and what did He do? He amazed me. So let's rejoice in this new year because of the life He has given us.

a colorful winter : part 2

Bare tree tops glow as they catch the sun. Fresh air is drawn in and I just breathe. Eyes begin to sparkle as the sun disappears beyond the horizon. I am once again fascinated and I rejoice in Him. I want to know how to rest in Him. I want to know how to enjoy Him even more. I want people to see Him instead of me. because God is my everything. and I am all His forever. He is inspiring my every breath.

My sisters are visiting their cousins this week and I am missing them like crazy so I decided to blog the second part of Jianna's lovely session. We had just finished up braving the alleys of Bolivar when we had an idea.

Jenna and Jianna packed up all their toys and clothes to send with us on our trip to El Salvador this summer. Two of the girls who received bracelets and stuffed animals sent a toy of their own home with us to give to the girls. Just thinking about it makes me choked up. The ribbon board is holding an image of the two girls and a Christmas card.

I had to include this image because it is so sweet. They have nothing and they would give everything. so much love.

My heart longs to know Him more. I want to think of Him as He thinks of me.

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. During our visit to El Salvador, I was reminded about how much I have. Not because of what the Salvadorians don't have, but because of what we share. We share an inheritance (John 14:1-4)! The Great God has sent His son to give us eternal life and life to the fullest. May we praise Him in all tongues and may the nations bow their knee only to the Lord, God. He is mighty to save and He is faithful. I, daughter of the King, live for the King of kings.

God, may we go with the fullness of you, bearing light to all who would see! May our prayers be a sweet aroma to you, Oh God.

It's difficult for me to explain how much I love spending time with my sisters. I want them to know that they are beautiful because God has declared it so. I want them to know that He has something special for them and that His love will never fade. I love capturing inner beauty because He sees the heart. My little sisters radiate. I am thrilled to see the work that He is doing in their lives.

I spent the weekend in Oklahoma relaxing with family and playing with puppies. That's right! My wonderful uncle got my sisters PUPPIES for Christmas. Two to be exact. and they are more than adorable.

While we were there, I was able to photograph the lovely Kelsey. She is so generous and loving. And did I say generous? Kelsey is the kind of girl you could call for anything - and she would be there asap. She is the kind of girl who thinks about others before she thinks about herself. She is the kind of girl I call friend. I am so blessed to know her.

We settled into the car and I turned the music up LOUD. I pretended to know how to dance and she laughed and she laughed and she laughed. For me, there is nothing like making my sisters happy and I will take every opportunity to make it happen!

Jenna is a sweetheart, so kind and generous and calm. Unless she is being crazy...then she is kind and generous and crazy. She is so genuine and unafraid to be who God has made her to be. I love each and every one of my sisters. :) Be on the lookout for another session with Jenna soon!

There are a lot of uses for a set of keys, but mostly I like to use them to unlock things. On Sunday, I had a flash of inspiration and I invited Jenna and Jianna to join me! We set up a themed shoot in the middle of the field and everything was wonderful... and then we realized that the keys were gone. Where was the last place you had them? Do you think they fell out when you were jumping up and down like this? Did you go down the hill? How far out did you go? Were you right behind me the whole time?

after searching the field on our hands and knees, rolling magnets around and bringing out the metal detectors, no keys. As I write this, I can't help but smile because this is a memory that I wouldn't want to forget. & I am so thankful for this promise that God gives to us: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. It is a time like this when I remember and rejoice because this is not my home! He is so, so good to us!

It was my senior year of high school and our new youth minister had just started. I remember the first time I saw his wife: "beautiful" was the only word that came to my mind. She came into our Sunday School class and I grabbed her a chair, sure I wanted to be nice, but I really wanted her to sit by me.

One year later I sat on her couch and soaked it up. every word. Scripture and wisdom just poured into my life in such an encouraging and challenging way. It is such a blessing to photograph their family and each little blessing of theirs. i am so blessed to know them! and thankful for each moment that i get to spend with them!

I am doing some catching up this week on the blog! I photographed Miss Mackenzie a few months ago in Bolivar, Missouri and we had a blast. Mackenzie's parents are so kind and gentle and patient and calm!! They love their little girl with such wonder and grace...and she soaks it all up!

We spend the afternoon roaming through the park and collecting rocks. I love this family!

i know, i know! I was just thinking that exact thing. Addelaynie is the sweetest name i have ever heard & her personality is just as sweet. The first time i met Amy, Addelaynie's mom, was in the kitchen of a very good friend. We got to know each other over grilled chicken, corn on the cob, strawberries and delicious juice.

Amy and Murray plan on doing missions overseas after graduation in May. Murray loves his girls and would do anything for them. & Amy is the kind of friend who sticks by and wants the very best for you. Addelaynie is blessed to have such a wonderful family - so loving and generous.

I could smell the rolls in the oven as I walked inside and my excitement grew even more - to spend some time with Isaac's side, of course! We spent the day visiting and laughing and eating and knitting. That's right, I am learning to knit. learning being the key word. I believe that my crocheting skills were refreshed last year at Christmas, but they may have to be refreshed again.

We headed down to my grandma's house in Oklahoma for the rest of the weekend to spend some time with more family. More visiting and laughing and eating and fun AND MOVIES!!! I love family.

Today I am remembering the instruction that God has given me: enjoy life. He gave me this challenge as I headed into my house where I would find a large hole in my ceiling from a bursted pipe...or something like that. Bottom line: water all over my floor and a very smelly home. I wondered if He was being serious. :) and He was.

It is amazing to live life with joy in Him. He has amazed me this year and it is my prayer that my eyes would never fail to see His Glory reign.

I find myself challenged this week, and especially tonight. I am studying for a few tests, finishing some papers and preparing for finals. It is so easy for me to get wrapped up in everything that I have to get done. But not tonight. Tonight I choose to enjoy Him in everything.

May we live in the great Joy that He is in our lives and may we seek Him with all our hearts!

I was in 6th grade when my parents started talking about Isaac Henson. Isaac was in 7th grade at the time, making my dad his Sunday School teacher and my dad was impressed. My parents encouraged me to invite Isaac to game nights and birthday parties, but I hadn't ever spoken to him so that was kinda weird.

In the spring of my 8th grade year, a youth retreat was wrapping up and I talked to him. I can't even remember what we talked about in those 3 minutes, but I remember thinking that he impressed me. His love for God and his love for life seemed to overflow from every piece of our conversation. After a birthday card, several phone calls and numerous handwritten letters we started dating. Only it wasn't really dating since my parents had a rule that I couldn't ever date. :)

Over these past 6 years, we have walked together towards our King and I am beyond thankful for the blessing God has given to me. On November 20th we celebrated our 1 year anniversary and i could burst with joy! Praise the Lord for my wonderful husband.

Excessive Twirling + Love

I know it might be a little hard for you to believe, but I used to twirl my hair... in my sleep. Because of this excessive twirling, there was a point where my parents encouraged me to wear socks to bed - on my hands. We reached this point after many midnight visits to my parent's room because my finger was stuck in my hair. That's right, my finger suffered from excessive twirling.

There was one time when my mom had to cut off parts of my hair to get my finger out. And boy, was I thankful. You have no idea what it's like to wake up an have your finger stuck in your hair!

So, I know my parents love me, but when they wake up during the night to save my little fingers from over-twirled hair, I REALLY KNOW. Thanks, mom and dad, for loving me (and saving my little fingers).

Anthony is a senior this year at Bolivar High School and he loves to talk, dance, skateboard and do crazy flips off of walls. I know, I know. You have probably seen or heard of these flips, but those are just regular flips. Anthony does crazy flips. This is an important distinction.

After spending just a little bit of time with Anthony, it is evident that he enjoys life. He is up for anything (including crazy flip after crazy flip).

Brooklyn & Houston

I pulled into their long, winding drive and admired the gorgeous light coming through the trees. Sometimes, it can be challenging to find the kind of illuminating light that is a must for great photography, but not with this family. It was as if you could see a fraction of their inner beauty as you enjoyed the scenery. It was beautiful.

As I was getting ready to park my car, I heard a terrifying bark. I decided to pretend that I was not afraid of this loud, scary dog as I stepped out of my car. I reached out my hand (what was I thinking?!) and I pet the dog. I pet this terrifying dog. And then we came best friends.

Brooklyn wanted some pictures of her with her horse, so we put on boots (rain boots for me, which Stacy so generously let me borrow).

Sometimes it was difficult getting this beautiful horse to cooperate... :)

I love Brooklyn's joy for life.

and yes, Brooklyn, you are quite beautiful.

Since Isaac and I have returned from El Salvador, it seems as though my schedule has left little to no time for blogging. I have so many blogs to write and I will be catching up over the next few weeks (hopefully!!).

God is GOOD. Sometimes I feel so exhausted and it seems like those are the only words that my mouth can form. God is SO GOOD. I delight in Him.

Near the beginning of the summer, God challenged me to ENJOY. Although this is such a difficult thing to learn to do, it is great! Because you learn to ENJOY! :) So take some time today and enjoy what He has done for you. And enjoy how He delights in you!

Baby Mya

Each time I take newborn pictures I come home and tell Isaac that I need a baby. eventually. Thankfully, Isaac went with me to this session so I could just yell across the yard... but then I would have startled this beautiful baby girl...

Mya is surrounded by tons and tons of wonderful people that love her to pieces! While I took pictures of this beautiful girl, I was just amazed. Because Mya has no idea how much her parents love her and as much as she tries, she won't know until she is a parent, too.

Mya was incredibly alert during the first part of the session, but after being comforting by mom, she went right to sleep...

I just love it when babies relax.

but i love it even more when they SMILE!!!

and she doesn't even know just how beautiful she is.

Clayton is going to be a senior this year at Bolivar High School. One of the first things I noticed about Clayton is how easy going he is. His mom told me that just 10 minutes before his senior session he was just relaxing with his friends. Clayton and his family are always looking for ways to be generous to others.

Lists. No matter who you talk to, it seems as though everyone has their own opinion about lists. As I was growing up I disliked lists more than anyone else alive. I remember my teachers, coaches, and parents giving me these lists that would make me cringe. I wouldn't cringe because they were unreasonable, but simply because the lists made me feel restricted.

Thankfully, I no longer feel like that. Lists help me get organized. Lists help me stay organized. For the past month I have been working on a big project. and after 60 collages I am done!!!

Those were the words that kept floating through my mind during this session. Skylar is so beautiful, patient and calm-just like her mom, Shanna. Shanna is so creative and fun to be around. I am always amazed when a baby can be comforted in the arms of her mother...and Shanna does just that: she comforts her little girl. It is incredible.

I loved spending time with Shanna and her mom for this amazing session.

During Grant's senior session, I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with the Glor family. And let me be completely honest-they are amazing. Grant's parents and girlfriend came along laughing and smiling the whole way! Grant is blessed to be surrounded by such a supportive group.

One of my favorite things about my clients is that they are free. Grant is no exception to this rule. He is free to be him. and people love him for it.

She loves to dance and tumble. She loves to be with her family and friends. She plays softball in the summer and she loves to make people smile.

Shae is a sweetheart, the Miss Missouri Sweetheart that is. After spending just a little bit of time with Shae you find yourself smiling because she is funny, kind, and joyful. I could go on and on about just how sweet this little girl is, but I am afraid that my writing would overtake the blog. She is that sweet.

Where do we draw the line between personal and professional?

I could pretend that all that matters to me is photography, but I know that isn't true. The ONLY reason I should do anything is for His glory. In fact, the only reason I WANT to do anything is for His glory. So, to me, it would be a waste not to speak the words He has given me to speak.

I want to share with the world what God has done in my life because I know that He doesn't waste anything. I know that God is good and that He loves more deeply than I can even imagine. When you read this blog and when you look through the images. I want you to see Him, not me. So be blessed and enriched in the Glory of God.

I think back to the Colorado and all of the great memories from that trip. Isaac and I went with the youth group to paint walls, lead Vacation Bible School, and build relationships. As I worked along side him I realized that I had a good thing. a very good thing. I had a good man.

He is my best friend and the most amazing husband in the world. I have learned so much about God because of the relationship that I have with Isaac. He pursues what God wants for him and for us. He is able to see something in me that I can't quite see myself. He is selfless and loving and I am so thankful that I get to spend the rest of my life with him. He is a great man.

Over the past few months I have been working on branding. When people visit the website or the blog, I want them to see a theme. And I want that theme to tell a story. As I continue to brainstorm my branding, I think about the type of images that I give my clients. I want my branding to match those images.

After receiving some business cards in the mail today (and photographing them, of course!) I realized just how much I love green and silver... so maybe, just maybe you will see that theme when the website goes up!

I could not be more excited for Lydia and John as they get ready to welcome their little girl!

I have known Lydia for a long time so I feel like it is okay for me to tell you... she is amazing. Lydia is creative and loving and kind and sweet. Once you get to know Lydia, there is no going back because you can't help but want to be around her.

The Duncan family is too cute!

As I was walking toward them, Mr Duncan pulled a red wagon out of the vehicle for his kids. I was seriously so excited about this wagon and we have some really great images because who doesn't like being pulled around in a little red wagon???

It is so cool to watch Mr and Mrs Duncan care for their kids. After spending just a little bit of time with them I could tell that there was nothing that they wouldn't do for their kids. There is so much love in this family.

Maddy was so much fun to be around. She made each thing her own. Just look at her laugh in this picture! So adorable!!

Today is Jenna's birthday! She is 13 years old and I cannot believe it!!!!!

Jenna is the kind of girl that anyone can be friends with (at least anyone who has any sense) because she is, well, Jenna. There is something about her that makes you want to hear what she has to say. After spending a little bit of time with her you catch yourself about to laugh because you know that she is going to make you have a great time. Jenna is just a sweetheart.

The images below aren't quite as random as you might think! I made these bobby pins and headbands for Jenna for her birthday. As I was growing up, crafts were the ABSOLUTE worst thing in the entire world, but I have learned to enjoy the relaxation that they bring. Jenna actually asked me if we could just do a session for her birthday, which is somewhat amusing. You see, Jenna could ask me any day for pictures and I would be more than happy to oblige.

I have been excited about posting this all week! Dylan and Tory are completely... amaZING! Seriously. They were so ready to get married and their love spilled over into every image.

We started at Visible Changes in Bolivar where the bride, along with her friends and family, had their hair made up-PERFECTLY. Tory had her mom put her hair into an up-do and it fit Tory so well: elegant, classy, and lovely. I can't even begin to tell you just how much I love this girl! She was ready and willing for anything and her joy seemed to be completely contagious.

I was only going to post images of tory and Dylan, but after looking through all of the images I just couldn't do it. I have to take you through this wedding day because the images tell a story of love.
